It adds: The fee for marketing contacts is a blended rate based on the number of contacts purchased and the applicable rates.

What each costs by users and contacts
HighLevel doesn't charge per user or per contact. The pricing page says: Unlimited contacts, unlimited Users. Scale your business without a tax on growth.
(HighLevel pricing page, checked 2026-10-17) What grows is email sending, at $0.675 / 1,000 emails; the table assumes 4 emails per marketing contact a month.
| Users · marketing contacts | HubSpot Starter / month | HubSpot Professional / month | HubSpot Professional, first year with onboarding | HighLevel Starter + email / month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 user · 1,000 | $20.00 | $890.00 | $13,680.00 | $99.70 |
| 2 users · 3,000 | $140.00 | $1,140.00 | $16,680.00 | $105.10 |
| 3 users · 5,000 | $250.00 | $1,140.00 | $16,680.00 | $110.50 |
| 5 users · 10,000 | $490.00 | $1,490.00 | $20,880.00 | $124.00 |
| 5 users · 25,000 | $1,090.00 | $2,215.00 | $29,580.00 | $164.50 |
| 10 users · 50,000 | $2,190.00 | $3,540.00 | $45,480.00 | $232.00 |
HubSpot's catalog also says: If you exceed your marketing contacts tier at any time, you will be billed immediately.
(HubSpot Product & Services Catalog, checked 2026-10-10) So a list that grows mid-contract raises the bill straight away, while on HighLevel only the sends do.
Where the comparison changes
- Texting and calling. HighLevel bills SMS, calls and numbers per use (rates below), and the calculator above adds them. The table leaves them out on both sides.
- Agencies. On HighLevel, each client is a sub-account: 3 on Starter, unlimited on Unlimited ($297), and from Unlimited up you can bill phone and email usage back to clients. The agency plans guide works out the cost per client.
- Discounts. HubSpot's product pages advertise limited-time discounts on Starter for new customers. The table uses the catalog's list prices.
Rates used
| Item | Price | Official wording | Source |

| SMS, US/Canada, outbound or inbound Carrier fees are added on top (see below). | $0.00747 / segment | A 10% discount is applied to the $0.0083 list price | LC Phone Pricing & Billing Guide (help center) checked 2026-10-17 |
| Carrier fee, SMS (highest outbound fee listed: Verizon) The calculator applies this to every segment. It is the highest outbound SMS fee in the official carrier table (Verizon and US Cellular), so estimates for outbound texts err on the high side. Some carriers list higher inbound fees (up to $0.0100). | $0.005 / segment | Verizon: $0.0050 (SMS Out) | LC Phone Pricing & Billing Guide (help center) checked 2026-10-17 |
| Carrier fee, SMS (AT&T, for comparison) One example from the same table. Not used by the calculator. | $0.0035 / segment | AT&T SMS: $0.0035 (out/in) | LC Phone Pricing & Billing Guide (help center) checked 2026-10-17 |
| Markup on pass-through charges (e.g. carrier fees) The calculator adds it to every carrier fee, rebilling or not, so it errs high when you don't rebill. | 5% | A fixed 5% markup is applied to these charges at the location (sub-account) level, only when re-billing is enabled. | LC Phone Pricing & Billing Guide (help center) checked 2026-10-17 |

Frequently asked questions
Is GoHighLevel cheaper than HubSpot?
At list prices, against Marketing Hub Professional, yes at every size in the table. Against Marketing Hub Starter, HubSpot is cheaper for one user with up to 1,000 marketing contacts; from two users and a few thousand contacts, HighLevel Starter costs less.
Does HubSpot charge an onboarding fee?
For Professional and Enterprise, yes. The catalog lists a required one-time fee of $3,000 for Marketing Hub Professional; its Starter entry lists no onboarding fee.
Are HubSpot's marketing contacts the same as all contacts?
No. The catalog bills marketing contacts only, and says non-marketing contacts are free up to an overall limit of 15 million. HighLevel doesn't distinguish: contacts are unlimited on every plan.

(HighLevel pricing page, checked 2026-10-17) The free trial guide covers what's billed during it.
Which is better for a marketing agency?
On price, HighLevel's flat fee per agency account, with unlimited sub-accounts on Unlimited, is the main difference from HubSpot's per-seat, per-contact pricing. What is GoHighLevel explains how sub-accounts work.
