GoHighLevel AI Employee pricing after the May 2026 change
HighLevel's AI Employee costs $50 a month per sub-account on Growth (1,000 Conversation AI responses and 100 Voice AI minutes) or $97 on Unlimited (fair use), or you pay per use. Since May 20, 2026, pay-per-use Voice AI is billed in parts, from $0.06 a minute for the engine and voice alone.

Voice AI since May 20, 2026
On pay-per-use, a Voice AI minute is now billed in parts: the Voice Engine charge ($0.045 / minute), text-to-speech ($0.015 / minute to $0.17 / minute depending on the provider), the language model's tokens, and the normal phone minute. The official page says usage before May 20, 2026 may show "older bundled Voice AI pricing". The change is in our price change log.
Counting only the engine and text-to-speech, the cheapest combination costs $0.06 per minute. At that rate, AI Employee Unlimited pays for itself at about 1,617 voice minutes a month per sub-account. With the most expensive voice provider it's about 452 minutes. Tokens and phone minutes push the real break-even lower.
Rebilling AI to clients
The AI pricing page says: Agencies must be on the $497/month plan to rebill AI Employee usage.

What the official page does not say
Several third-party pages disagree on these points, so here is what the official source says as of our last check:
- Which agency plans can use AI Employee. The official pricing page lists AI Employee as a per-sub-account add-on. The AI pricing page doesn't say whether any agency plan is excluded. We don't guess. Check in your own account.
- Ask AI and AI Studio limits. These are measured in 5-hour windows, and Unlimited includes three times the Growth limit. The page doesn't state the size of the limit.
Choosing
- Occasional AI use, a few sub-accounts: pay-per-use keeps you from paying for capacity you don't use.
- Steady chat and some voice: Growth, as long as you stay within 1,000 responses and 100 minutes.
- Voice-heavy clients: Unlimited, once minutes pass the break-even above.

Per sub-account. The official page prices both plans "per location", HighLevel's word for a sub-account. Ten sub-accounts on Growth cost ten times $50.
How much is Voice AI per minute?
On pay-per-use, $0.045 / minute for the engine plus text-to-speech ($0.015 / minute to $0.17 / minute), so $0.06 to $0.22 before LLM tokens and the phone minute.
When does AI Employee Unlimited beat pay-per-use?
